Care Instructions
We recommend cleaning your SHO Food Flask with hot water & soap. Clean thoroughly before first use. The SHO Brush can help clean hard-to-reach areas. Ensure that after washing, each part is assembled as purchased, including rubber seals on the stopper.
Do not use bleach or cleaners containing chlorine on any parts.
Do not immerse or soak in water for a prolonged period of time.
Do not use a dishwasher to clean your SHO Food Flask.
Whilst the paint is hard wearing, be careful when in contact with other (metallic) objects, especially pointed items such as keys - as they may scratch the paint work.
The condiment section can be opened by twisting the top of the stopper anti-clockwise.
Keep packaging for future reference.
Recommended Best Practices
For best results, please pre-heat/pre-cool your SHO Food Flask with boiling water/ice cold water for 5-10 minutes. Fill and then close the lid. Empty after 10 minutes.
For maximum heat retention, fill your SHO Food Flask to near capacity with food or liquids. Excess empty space will result in less efficient heat retention.
For best results, please ensure that your food or liquid is heated sufficiently prior to insertion into your SHO Food Flask.
Warnings
Be careful not to spill boiling water and/or extremely hot food as it can scald.
If the food inserted into your Food Flask is producing lots of steam, please let the steam evaporate before closing your Food Flask to avoid pressure build up.
ALWAYS OPEN YOUR FOOD FLASK WITH THE MOUTH POINTING AWAY FROM YOURSELF AND OTHER PERSONS TO AVOID INJURY.
Do not use your Food Flask for long term storage of liquids or solids.
Do not overfill the Food Flask.
From time to time, check that the silicone seal on the stopper is in-tact and positioned properly.
Do not use the Food Flask in the microwave, stove-top or in any type of oven.
Not recommended for use by Children. Keep out of reach by Children, especially when Food Flask contains hot contents which may burn or scald.
Do not use your Food Flask with food which spoils quickly. The rate at which contents spoil
varies depending on several factors. For example, contents that include dairy, homemade soup or tomato may start to spoil much sooner. Also spoilage may occur faster when contents have been partially consumed and/or the flask has been opened and closed while holding contents. Proceed with caution when using the product with quick spoiling or partially consumed contents, as pressure may build up in the Food Flask and possibly cause forceful ejection of the stopper or contents.
In general, hot food should not be left in the Food Flask for any longer than 12 hours and cold food no longer than 24 hours. If hot contents are left in the flask for longer than 12 hours, or cold contents for 24 hours, or you suspect spoilage, use caution when opening the flask. Spoilage of food inside the flask can cause pressure to build, possibly leading to the forceful ejection of the stopper or contents. In such circumstances, before attempting to open the flask, ensure the opening is pointed away from yourself and any other person to avoid injury.
Be careful if you use a microwave to heat your food to avoid superheating your food as this can cause an excessive buildup of pressure. Superheating is a phenomenon where extremely hot liquid is trapped underneath liquid/food with a cooler temperature due to the unequal heating process from a microwave. This causes pressure to quickly build up which can lead to a dangerous explosion of severely hot liquid. To avoid this, make sure you stir your food frequently during the heating process and before you fill your Food Flask.
If the lid of your Food Flask is difficult to open by hand, do not open the flask and dispose of it at your local waste facility.
Do not use tools or devices to force open your Food Flask.
Do not use your Food Flask to store or carry carbonated drinks or dry ice. They may cause the lid and/or stopper and contents to eject forcefully or leak.
To avoid possible injury, do not walk or run with product. To avoid possible injury, do not chew on any part of the product (including silicone seals) as it may present a choking hazard. Never leave children unattended while using this product.
