How do I clean my SHO Newt?

The Newt bottle can be safely cleaned in a dishwasher.

However, when hand washing, we recommend cleaning your Newt with hot water and liquid detergent.

The SHO Brush can be used to clean hard-to-reach areas.

Store your Newt bottle with the lid removed.

For a deep clean we recommend using SHO Cleaning Powder.

Tannin Stains and Hard Water Build-up

If you use your Newt bottle for tea and coffee, you may find that the tannins in your drinks can start to stain the bottle, even when cleaned after every use. This causes the bottle to take on a brownish colour that can be mistaken for rust.

Hardwater build-up can also cause your bottle to become coated in a white film.

For this, we recommend using the SHO Cleaning Powder to remove stains.

Alternatively, you can use a mixture of white vinegar and hot water, or using half a dishwasher tablet, or using a denture cleaning tablet.

Do not mix any of the cleaning methods above and always wash your bottle with hot water and liquid detergent after completing a deep clean.
